Asphalt & Enamel

Coal tar and bituminous base enamels have been applied since the 1940’s and 50’s and its advantages/ disadvantages in use are well documented. Although not applied in the same volumes as in previous years, mainly due to environmental concerns, asphalt & enamel coatings are still used depending upon location/ soil conditions and predominantly line operational temperatures.

Bauhuis have installed complete facilities inclusive of blast cleaning/ primer & seam weld application stations & main coating systems including bitumen melt equipment (raw material preparation), coating weir & reinforcement wrap (fibreglass & asphalt) application booths, quenching and end cleaning machines.
