History
Bauhuis B.V. was founded in 1973 by Mr. Ben Bauhuis.
Being a real entrepreneur equipped with great mechanical engineering skills Mr. Bauhuis Sr. quickly expanded the company B&L, the original company name.
Mr. Bauhuis Sr. became involved in the pipe coating industry by performing maintenance on equipment imported from the U.S.A, used for the coating of underground pipelines installed in The Netherlands in the seventies. Gradually the activities changed from performing maintenance to designing & assembling new machines and finally complete plants/ installations.
Mr. Bauhuis Sr. has contributed largely to the development of the impingement concrete weight coating and internal blasting equipment, at present still being produced by Bauhuis.
In 2005 the ownership of the company was transferred by Mr. Ben Bauhuis to the current owner Mr. Lex Bauhuis. In the same spirit as his father Mr. Lex Bauhuis continues to manage the company.
By putting customer requirements at the forefront and accepting full responsibility for the performance of the equipment, Bauhuis has achieved an extensive client base around the world.
In 35 years Bauhuis has grown from a small machine shop to one of the biggest equipment suppliers to the pipe industry receiving several letters of commendation from major coating applicators. Almost all major companies active within the pipe coating industry have a Bauhuis turnkey installation or items of equipment within one of their plants. Although we have installed to date an impressive number of coating facilities, we do not, as company policy, reveal a client reference list as we consider client confidentiality paramount.
